I Bought A Microphone

As the title declares... I have made the purchase of a condenser microphone. I still don't really know how to work it all (and I'm certainly no musician or producer - hence the frequent popping sounds and poorly mixed instruments) but I thought I'd share with you the song behind the poem that I posted just a few days ago (check previous post). I spent an hour or so in the basement laying this down and hopefully you'll enjoy it (and maybe you will if you're not too critical). Perhaps it'll be a weekly thing?

To the glory of God.

(Yes, there's a picture of a monkey. It would only let me post this as a video so I improvised... with the monkey.)

My favorite part is the monkey.

kidding!

Its great, honestly. I really liked the tambourine and clapping too. Did you do it yourself and record it over you singing, or did you have people doing that?

It might be just be just me... but I felt the word 'renown' was awkward (not in reading the lyrics, but in how its sung)

There's my honest opinion... I really like it!

Nice work JIP... glad to hear you are still churning out melodies from that goldmine of a brain of yours. Nice licks too!

I think your purchase of a condenser microphone was a very smart purchase-- I'm excited to listen to more!

Jon-Paul, it is so good to hear you play! For a moment, I was right back at flowerfield.

The song sounds great (yes, even the singing) and I liked the ten and ten thousand; it gives a sense of proportion to carnal and spiritual pursuits, showing what is the true chase. The next song I thought of was Sufjan's "The Seer's Tower" --can't explain that one.
